2019 - Pitch Renovation Project

Petts Wood Football Club is looking to raise sufficient funding to keep our football pitches in good condition by first renovating them and then performing regular maintenance. All the money the club raises goes back into the running of the football club and we do not have enough funds to renovate the pitches and we are struggling to find enough money to keep them maintained effectively.

With the lack of funds for this essential project we thought that crowdfunding would be one way to raise the money to perform the renovation work.

The football pitches were originally created from farm land and the depth of the top soil is thin. The ground has a stone and shingle base which is good for drainage. Our main issue is top soil depth - we need to increase the depth of top soil in order to maintain it and provide a quality playing service.

The pitches are heavily used at the weekends and the increased usage over the last few years has left them worn, impacted, uneven and the key areas such as the goal mouths the pitches are muddy and pitted.

We're looking to raise £34,000 to renovate the football pitches at Petts Wood Football Club.

This renovation will set the basis for ongoing maintenance which will be needed to keep the football pitches in good condition.

2015 - Clubhouse Development Phase 2 - Solar Panels

From March the club will begin raising funds to install solar panels to offset our very high electricity costs. This is in keeping with our recycling philosophy and will enable us to focus the income raised in the T bar and events to spend on improving facilities and member development.

Please use MY DONATE to enter the PWFC page, which will enable you to donate by debit or credit card. We are a CASC club and are therefore able to claim gift aid on donations.

Please look out for our events throughout the year, we appreciate your ongoing support.

2014 - Defribulator Fund

Very many thanks to everyone who contributed to our defibrillator fund and in particular Craig Smith, who led the London – Brighton bike ride group to start the fund. We are delighted to announce we now have a defibrillator. Clearly we hope it will never be needed but should it be required we are now prepared. Thank you all !

Feb 2013 - Update from Harry’s mum and dad (Rob and Jo)

Since Harry’s bone marrow operation on April 12th last year he has made steady progress, in December he returned to football training with the Hawks, due to the severe cold weather we have delayed his return as catching the slightest cold can result in a stay in hospital. Harry now enjoys go karting and we are all looking forward to our first holiday in April.

On 1st March 2012 Petts Wood Football Club’s announced its “Feels Like Team Spirit” campaign, in support of one of its young players, who was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukaemia.

The under 15’s player became unwell during a training session and endured a gruelling course of treatment for 3 years. His sudden illness prompted an immediate and poignant reaction from his team mates, manager and the club, who felt compelled to help in raising funds for his on-going treatment, as well as expressing whole hearted support for Harry and his family as he recovers.

Feels Like Team Spirit involved generations of football players, amateurs and professionals, as well as local businesses and organisations, all coming together for a vital cause. It is an example of what ‘grass roots’ football can achieve and will celebrate what the sport is about – the team.
